Hello, here is me

Hello world :)
I am from Southampton, UK and I am interested in pocket watches.
I'd like to learn lubricating and repairing them when needed.
While I have a few pocket watches, as there is no structure or profound attachment to them, I wouldn't call myself a collector.
I believe they are graceful and seeing them working after a century or more is inspiring.
best regards,

    Hi Valentin,

When we moved our Message Board to this new software platform, this area was created to capture the blogs that were on the old site.

the idea of a personal blog does not seem to have caught on, so we don't have much traffic here.

On the other hand, you and I could talk a bit and see if we can use that as an example of the intent. I think you are using it properly, but many others who are familiar with the forum discussions may still not understand the subtle differences between a forum thread and a blog.

    Thank you Tom,
I'm not sure I would have the time and discipline to blog, and I am at the beginning with pocket watch studying.
Besides nice pictures, I sometimes indulge in grand dreams of complications or simplifications.

    best wishes,

    Good morning Valentin,
I was just passing through and caught your beginnings of a blog here. I understand your hesitation;I felt the same way at one time. But these Blogs have a way of growing and becoming a part of you.
Anyway,my friend, your words "I sometimes indulge in grand dreams of complications or simplifications" caught my attention. Putting your ideas, especially half formed ideas,in writing might inspire others to comment, and assist you in solidifying them. I think ideas are too easily lost sometimes.
