Zandam Movement Needed

Got this one in today. Lady’s son did this to it and threw away original movement. She wants an original movement. She had the weights but no pendulum. Where can I buy the movement? What movement did it take? What pendulum? Anybody help?

Most had Hermle 261 series movements. But some had Regulas and WUBAs and other minot players.

It will be difficult to figure out what movement it once had.

If you could possibly track down the old movement. That would be very fortunate!

Thanks, Willie. No, she said her son threw it away. It has the bell on top so that may help. Also, there are no winding holes to match so maybe that will make it easier to adapt. I also got a nice kitchen clock that he did the same thing with. I have several kitchen clock movements so maybe I can revive that one. She has a nice Dufa Westminster grandfather too. I’m surprised he didn’t put in a quartz there too.

I will give you my best guess!
Just take out the added stuff and post a straight in photo of the old movement's mounting screw holes, along with a second photo of the front, with a ruller down the center line.
The pendulum post length can be a problem, even if you have the old movement! Got to be lucky ...

Thanks. I’ll do that tomorrow. I looked at the Hermle 261-080. It looks right. We’ll see.

Looks like you'll need hands for it too. Originals were gold and pretty thick I think.

Got it out. Mounted in bottom only with two long bolts. I called Mark Butterworth and ordered the 261-080-23. Should work. I’ll let you know. I need a pendulum. Anybody know where I can find one?
Well, I found the pendulum and hands at Timesavers for $32.00.

Do you have a BFI account? With BFI you can get all this stuff at one place, with less shipping. As already mentioned, front to back spacing of the pendulum and pendulum length are the usual trouble makers. The exposed, out in the open, pendulum is a big plus. Willie

I do, Willie, but they don’t show any of those parts on line. Mark has a good price on the movement and Timesavers is the only place I can find the pendulum and hands.

The stuff used to be carried by everyone but 'not anymoooore'.

Mile High has/had (?) An 8 1/2" pendulum for about half what others were asking.

BFI has dropped the ball on The usual Zann parts. Or maybe the ball just isn't there anymore.
