    RJ,

Looks to be a C.1927 Sessions Clock Co., "Hyannis", 8-day lever movement banjo timepiece. 22.5 inches tall. Looks complete other than perhaps the eagle on top? I don't see it in the eBay pics. The movement probably just needs cleaning.

RJ, there is a dog!! Good deal. Your clock is in Tran's Sessions book. It is the "Province-town, circa 1930, 22 1/2 inches long, 7 1/2 inches wide, Mahogany finish case, with inlay design, 5 inch metal dial, polished brass sash, convex glass, glass panel with attractive marine view in colors, 8 day, time, lever movement, $16.20".
I guess you will have to learn all about lever escapements and hairsprings and balance wheels. It should have a brass eagle on top, but I don't see it. Everything else looks all right.

Hey all thanks for quick replies!

    Alrighty!

About time I scored a gooden.

Any chance any of you have a link to lever escapement? Does this mean it does not have pendulum but like balance wheel type?

RJ, yes, no pendulum. Balance wheel. Check the find on repair board for lots of neat stuff about these. Probably does just need a good cleaning, maybe bushings. Time only so a simple movement.

    Thanks Harold. Great info!

Kinda angular palettes. Wonder why they would do that?

Sorta looks like it would be touchy. I guess depthing is super critical. As small angles on palettes are only area escape teeth should hit.

Anyway, I have a feeling I'm gonna like this clock. 8 day is great. Getting tired of them 30 hour winding.

See the red second hand. A trademark hand for sessions electrics and also the description clearly states it is an electric

As long as the coil is good the motor bearings can always been repacked and movement cleaned. The only possible problem down the road could be the drive gear that meshes with the worm gear. Many of these were fiber and crumble when dry. I usually put an extremely thin layeer of Alemite grease on them to try and keep them moist.

Hey newcat; I see no mention of electrical movement in description. Also has key and one winding arbor hole. Re-check the link above.

    Scottie;

Yeah Ive been diagnosed as full blown ebayarsinits.

I gotta suffer through some withdrawl symptoms. Avoid that confirm button.

Btw, I think it's kinda fun reviewing other peoples buying habbits too. Sorta like looking through thier dirty underware. Especially when they buy personal hygene things....

    Ahh well, cheap thrills.
