Needed a corner piece for a new haven dial. One of these I cast from one of the originals. Not bad small pieces are so hard

tell us more about your work. what was used etc.
Well I basically done some casting in middle school and I'm 55. I made one other piece and didn't do it the proper way. As in a made an impression in casting sand and poured the brass I heated in my cast master furnace as level as possible then ground the back of the dial I was making. That was first try. Turned out pretty well actually.
This one I took my piece I had and made an impression leaving it in place sprinkled some talc powder over it used a¼ steel rod and placed on my piece and then packed the top half. Scooping out a funnel around the rod. Pulled it out. And poured my brass. First pic is my first try at dial and 2nd is what I used to duplicate.

nicely done, i have a missing part on a clock need to someday cast. thanks.
Thanks. The problem is many times we don't have a duplicate to copy. I was lucky I got another clock with a dial that would work on another and I had 3 of the 4 from the other
