Often when I start to wind the watch the stem turns freely in both directions with no click and no winding. If I then loosen the bezel the watch winds normally with a normal strong click as the stem is turned back.
This problem developed after the watch was cleaned and oiled. - Any ideas?

Maybe crown loose on the stem? Loosening the bezel should have no effect whatever on the winding. Maybe take this up with the shop as a warranty issue?

Perhaps the bezel stops the stem from going into position by holding it back from normal. The crown may need to be adjusted farther away from the bezel.

Since this is a lever set watch, make sure the bezel is not moving the lever when installed. A slight pull on the setting lever might dis-engage the winding clutch.
