    Wow. Must have been an early daguerreotype in that the daguerreotype was invented in 1939. Amazing that it has survived in such pristine condition as daguerreotypes were extremely fragile. Here is a link to a page on this topic: http://rogerjnorton.com/Lincoln85.html

    By the way---Houdini---was just a shot in the dark. Wouldn't have guessed Abe in a hundred years though.
