Who made it - mystery?

Hi all;

Just picked this one up. It is a WWII presentation watch (engraved on the back cover). The back plate is signed DIMRA and DFco, which I understand to be Dimier Freres. However, when I removed the dial, the front plate is stamped GW co, for General watch company. I thought this rather strange. Why the 2 different stamps? who made my watch?

According to Pritchard, making along story short, the maker was General. Dimier seems to be a broker a distributor of various watches under several trade names.

General Watch Co is in Bienne and owned by Brandt the same people as Omega. Evidenty this firm did private and specail brands other than Omega.
