Your attachments do not open for me.
I deleted them. After I posted this thread, I realized it was basically a repeat of another thread that was already underway with the same movement. You in fact are a part of that discussion and already helped me in my issues with my dad's mantle clock.

Thanks

Hey, Kenny. Is yours a small wooden Carriage clock? I have one of those with bim bam hammers and rods. It's was one of the first clocks that I had done and I never got it to work right. I think I'll go find it and give it another go. I'll post on this thread when I get to it.
Thanks, Danny

I'm not sure I know what a carriage clock is actually. This is a mantle clock made by Emperor Clock Co. It does have bim bam hammers and rods as you call them though. It sounds like crap. I've tried to adjust the movement up a little so the hammers aren't so close to the rods and this helped a little, but one or two of the hammers still does a double strike. I wonder if there's a weak spring in there?

So, you've got a chime clock. What does it chime on the 1, 2, and 3/4 hours? Can you post a pic, or three, of the movement?
Mine is just time and strike. A carriage clock is rectangular standing taller than wide with a full glass door. It has a little handle on the top of it but it's just for show. It's not safe to carry it with, go figure? The fancy ones have glass sides too. I think they're modeled after the old, old carriage lantern.
Have a good night. Hope to talk more tomorrow, Danny

Yes, every 1/4 hour. I cleaned the balance as described in the other thread using lighter fluid and it is running much better now. Dad has 2 mantle clocks and the other one has the same problem so I'm taking this one back to him and I'll do this exercise all over again tomorrow. o_O

Here are the pics I deleted at the beginning of this thread plus one I took this morning.

I was wondering what a 34D was. But I see now it's a 340.
Maybe change the title?
