Does anyone know where i can obtain the full text for "Wheel Cutting - Modern Means and Methods" by David Morrow? I can find various references to it on the internet, but they only give the first 18 pages. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Mike, and welcome to the forum,

Since Jerry Kieffer is a member here, it's worth asking him about this text, but I assume that you're familiar with J. Malcolm Wild's 'Wheel and Pinion Cutting in Horology'?

Graham

Davids publication is based at least in part on the NAWCC workshop WS-119. The next class is tentatively scheduled for late Sept. or there about for anyone interested.

If I am not mistaken, the following link is Davids web site where you could contact him in person.

Graham, thanks for the note.

Thanks Jerry, That is very interesting. I will have a look on David's website and see if I can join in his class.

Thanks Graham and Jerry,

I do actually know Malcolm Wild here in the UK and have bought one of his pivoting tools for my lathe. I also have a copy of his book, which I highly recommend.

I will try to contact David via his website to see if I can join in the class if it runs in September.

Regards,
Mike

Jerry, is there a new date for the WS119 class? I don't see it on the NAWCC Events list, so thought I would ask in case others are interested in attending. I see WS120 in July, but no listing for 119. Thanks!

So far here is what I can tell you since I only deal with the instructor aspect of the courses.

The wheel and pinion cutting class WS-119 was originally scheduled a couple of years ago just before the pandemic.
At that time it was a full class but was canceled because of the pandemic. I have now agreed to teach the class sometime late sept. or around that time. Unless of course I get hit by a big truck or the plane crashes.

Students who previously were signed up either have been or will be contacted with a new scheduled date. Lives and things have changed over the last couple of years, and I suspect not all will be able to reschedule to the new date. At that point, any openings will be opened up to the public.

To sign up for any class or get on a list or have educational questions, interested parties can contact Ken DuLucca NAWCC Education Director at 717-280-4331.
