What kind of watch is this? What type of movement, what year?
    (I don't know yet)

This will be a contest (if anyone will play) "just for fun and a small
prize" (maybe a 7J 12s pocket watch that runs).

I bought this pocket watch today that was advertised as a Stop watch.
I couldn't read the name on the dial, and I have not done any research myself yet.
The seller also told me they couldn't read the name. I guess they never opened it.
It may be a piece of crap, who knows.

I bought it totally blind for $54.64 cents with free shipping.
Who ever can guess what it is with some detail, will win a prize. I need
at least 3-4 real guesses to make it a contest.

I just bought it so I will not have it for a few days.
Here are the photos (It's very well used)

It does look to be a correct ID of the maker based on
what I've seen from a photo search. But time will tell :).
Anyone who wants to make a guess on the year,
    or exact jewel count can.

PM your address if you want in on the contest.
I need a place to send the prize.

Will be interesting to see the movement you get.
Common Columbus dial, your dial "C" matches.

With that dial it's probably 11 jewels.

I'm with Greg on this, with this dial it will probably be 11 jewel gilt movement and probably pendant set.

Certainly the dial is Columbus Watch Co. The case is neat. FYI: I don't know that I ever see those applied (?) trains look much less worn than that.

While I have seen quite a few stop-watches described by sellers as pocket-watches, I have never seen the pocket-watches described as stop-watches. Interesting. I hope it's a great find. Good luck.

You're going to have to cut the prize up in pieces to reward all these right answers. After having microscopically examined the bezel beading pattern, and meditated on the dirt smudges on the crystal, I think you have an ultra -rare 29 Jewel Columbus Railway Jester, of which only 15 were made.
You'll know right away when you take the back off - if a spring loaded fake snake jumps out at you, it's a Jester.
I'll pm yoou my address so you can send me my slice of the watch.

    Unadjusted 15 jewel.

Edit: I guess we posted at the same time

So it's a circa 1891 18s 15 jewel Pendent set Open Face Columbus Watch Co.
Nickel Damaskeening in a coin silver Fahys No 1 case .

    ....and it weighs a ton

    Dave,

The Col. price list handy shows grade 34 as htg.

Could still be 11 jewels, but, given jewels in settings and the middling serial number, 15 jewels now seems more likely to me as well. I'll wait for an under dial view.
