• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

It's a German box clock, probably 1920s, but your photos can't be enlarged so can't tell you much more. What nformation do you want?

1. I can't see any trade mark - but again, your photos don't enlarge. However, Tatyana has idenfied the movement as being made by Mauthe.
2. The dial surround isn't brass because the manufacturer decided to use another material. Certainly not 'fake'.
3. Because your pictures won't enlarge I can't see if there are traces of decoration in the places you indicated with red marks. But if they were there, they have obviously dropped off.

3 rods bim-bam strike was known as the Divina Gong in Mauthe literature. The plain gong casting would correspond to the 1930's patterns.
4 rods bim-bam is similar, but known as the Mignon Gong and has a different sound.

Many of the 1930's German cases were very plain in appearance but well constructed.

Carvings were typically molded from patterns and attached with tacks or wood glue. Once in a while they'll be hand-carved instead.
If you find any prominent pinholes or traces of old glue, it would have had an arched crest like this one:
