I'm doing my first hairspring colleting job and need an experienced opinion as what is an acceptable interference fit for the collet. I have always worked with older collets and gentle tweezer pressure was adequate to mount the hairspring. Is that true also for new collets?

Tried one collet that was .04mm undersized (compared to the staff) and there was no way it was going on unless I used a staking tool or a press. Found another that was about .01mm under and it had some "stick" so I used it.

Live and learn... this collet was taller and after installing it and placing the movement on the timer, while dial up, it sounded like the transmission was coming apart. Since that didn't happen earlier, I have to assume the taller collet is rubbing the under side of the balance bridge.

Oh well...I'm getting experience removing and pinning hairspring collets.
