I wish you luck in getting your time and strike box clock serviced and running again.

Yes, you have a nice Junghans German box clock. I have a couple of Junghans Tambour clocks that have really nice sounding gongs (coiled or straight rods). I presume yours has similar deep rich tones and I can understand why your wife is disappointed.

The designs of these are generally similar. I would say yours is simple, but has a nice ornament at the top. Many have several pieces of cut leaded and beveled glass to dress up the bottom half.

Here are many sample images of others: German Box Clocks

The bottom trim piece looks interesting. I suspect it was added on later.

Make sure the repairperson is competent, not just cause they say they are, I have had to re-repair several by so-called repair persons.

Rockin Ronnie that is a little shelf I put on the wall to set it on I don't trust the hanger on back but I due have screw through it.
Ipbp yes I hope I get a good one this time, It was running slow so I took it to clock shop and had it cleaned now it runs worst than be for , looked in side it has excess oil every where went back shop was out of business and building was empty!
so I did some calling around and found a clock repair man that has been doing it for 20 years I talked to him for 15-20 min he sounds like could do the job
so I am taking it to him next Tuesday he 70 miles away.
