Glashutte I bought in Glashutte. Refurbished - dial and case - but obviously some time ago (new wear already present).
    Early post-WW2 7 jewel movement.

Refurbished=not very collectable, but thus good for wearing :D

    Great runner. Strong amplitude. Accurate.

For a few days now - an old Soviet Kirovskie.

It is an old dress watch. Mutilated case (not wear through but mechanical damage to the coating on the side).

Mutilated dial with a lot of damage, but most of the original paint still intact.

This watch was given to a friend of my grandfather’s for 25 years in Polish coal mines.
That’s why I repaired this watch and wear it from time to time.
It was made in early 1960s by 1st Moscow Watch Factory, using a new 2408 caliber, one of the first Soviet direct drive center second caliber of reasonable thickness.

    1FAEEF1D-F08C-47BF-A500-4FC3AC779FC2.jpeg

This is the early version - 16j and no shock protection. It was a new, modern movement, but made using the very same technologies 1MChZ had been using since 1946 - technologically improved calibers were yet to come :)

Here's a Hamilton Cushion Form ca 1928. serial no. 4038704, 14kwgf engraved case. I think this one is the Cushion Form not Cushion Form Opening. It looks like the middle Cushion on page 56 of the Rondeau book--short lugs and narrow bezel with smooth top and engraved sides. Hands have obviously replaced.

Another Gruen, this time one of the 21j movements. The crystal is flat in the middle and sloped on each end which distorts the view of the dial.

Today I’ve got my French old verge pocket watch, made around 1830. This watch has a story - I was not ‚into’ verge watches and this was ugly, rusty and stinking of WD40. Because I did not find anything worth buying in Gliwice that day (antique fair, but not too good), I decided to buy this. It’s funny - the movement is in very good mechanical condition. Very strong runner. When worn it’s quite reliable - today it was +4 minutes at 2 o’clock and now it’s +1. It is quite position- dependent, but still by the end of the day it should show pretty much the correct time.

Here's a small Buren, 15-j Grand Prix movement. I think the case may have some changes. The back appears to be stainless steel and the body looks like chrome plate over base metal. The lugs are solid and look like the pins have been welded or soldered to the lugs. Franken case I suppose. DSC_0002 (1).JPG

For today my square Waltham. 6/0D movement, 21-j, 4 adjustments. The serial number is 077429 something curious about that. The "Gray Book" doesn't show any numbers with O or 0 as a series. And this movement is shock resistant. The Swigart book does not show any 6/0 movements after the C versionl

I have had this watch a while and never DSCF1871.JPG wore it much. Recently I took it out of the drawer and decided to wear it. I regulated it a little and it keeps pretty good time. I don't know much about it, except the movement is marked 'Le Phare'. I did write to them, but got no reply.

The watch is rather hard to read, with so many hands, and it really should have a less scratched crystal, which might make it a bit easier to read. Anyway, I like it. DSCF1814.JPG

    Hello everyone

I'm wearing my Mido Multi Star Datoday Automatic (from what I was able to find online, this watch was made from 1970-1979).

Got it from my grandfather when he passed on in the late 90s. Interestingly, I never wore it as I was heavier back then and it was too small for me. As time went on, I stopped wearing watches altogether. Recently, I decided to use them again and having lost some weight, it now fits me. After more than 20 years in drawers, this almost 50 year old watch keeps perfect time.

As you can see from the pic, the band is incorrect, it no longer keeps the date though the it does the day, it has some damage, but it works!

Here's something different. An impulse buy which I should have passed by. It has a very German looking fake name: Kronen & Sohne (umlaut over the o). Quality control is sadly lacking; the crown doesn't pull out to go into setting mode and the only way to set it is to turn the hands backwards to correct time. I think the case finish was described as coffee. Notice the 'jewels' in the rotor.
