What’s this building?

Hello,

Inquiring about engraving on the front of this Hampden/Dueber. Their is a building or town. Does anyone know if this has a meaning?

Also the cover over the mechanism has an etched cross and 3 or 4 numbers.

I see the case and watch #’s but the town gets the curiosity going.

The hand etched numbers are most likely a watchmaker's service job number. Lots of the die cast cases back then had small engraved bucolic scenes of rural villages or homes. Most of the ones I have resemble alpine location.

Thank you for the new word in my vocabulary "bucolic". How can it be, I wonder, that a word which so closely resembles "bubonic" and "colic", actually means something nice?

As for the building - given that it is more tall & pointy than the others around it, I'd say this is supposed to be the village church. Thomas Kinkade would approve.
