I just picked up this Seth Thomas #2 Regulator today. I was told it is a 1920. The case, glass, dial, finish, pendulum, and label all appear to be original, the movement is a 77b, or so I was told. I will post some pictures of the movement later. sold my 72 reissue to purchase this one. I think it was worth it.

I almost had a #1 regulator. It sat in the shop for months and just when I went in to buy it it was gone :(, but I ended up with this beauty :)

I was shocked at what great shape it is in too. Obviously this clock was loved by someone. The guy I bought it from is in the NAWCC too, always glad to give business to a fellow member.

I believe so. It is in really amazing shape, no peeling, or cracking, or even any scratches. Someone loved and cared for this clock. I'm glad to get it.

Thanks. I thought so. Yours looks very nice. I put a deposit on a walnut veneered1922 Regulator #2 a week or so ago (don't have it just yet) and it looks exactly like yours.

Congrats on your Seth Thomas No.2 looks in great shape and the dial in really great shape no paint missing a plus. It took me years to add one to the collection got mine at the NAWCC Pasadena Reginal about 7 years ago. And some had no veneer like mine. And mine from about the same date as yours. Here is a shot of it.

that clock is a beauty too. believe it or not, I would say with about 90% certainty that the oak bezel on your clock is actually a veneer as well.

It took me a while to get the right one. I bought and repaired dozens of low end antique clocks and sold them, then bought a 72 reissue then sold it and looked over dozens of #2's I thought about getting a early one but I didn't like the colored glass doors and the weights on them. I just like the classic look of this one, the brass weight, bob and beat scale, the clear glass door. Then I kept finding these one with all these flaws, paint pealing on the dials, cracks in the glass, veneering coming off, cracks in the wood. Then I stumbled on this one and it was perfect and I snapped it up.

yeah is looks just like mine, beautiful clock. Have you pulled the dial and looked at the movement. I was wondering if it was a 77b.Mine is running so nice I don't have the heart to pull the dial off yet.

Brian, I just looked at mine, and I'm certain the bezel on my oak clock is not veneer.
