Would you consider putting a redirect in your .htaccess file? Do you still own the domain name they were on?

If you put the following line in the file named .htaccess in your web root, it should work

    Code:
    redirect /gallery1/vgallery/ [url]http://webhorology.com/gallery/[/url]

    Thanks

It should be working now. I had the original file wrong.

    it was http://www.webhorology.com/vgallery/gallery1/

    It is now redirected correctly

htaccess no longer works on cpanel for me. Think there is a security problem with it.

Tom - How do I use a WildCard in a redirect?

Use RedirectMatch and add a .* regex to the end of the path you want redirected.

This will redirect anything under gallery1 to gallery
    Code:
    RedirectMatch 301 /gallery1/.* [url]http://webhorology.com/gallery/[/url]
If you want to replace the digit after gallery use:
    Code:
    RedirectMatch 301 /gallery.* [url]http://webhorology.com/gallery/[/url]

Just tested both on my server in the httpd.conf file.
There may be a more elegant rewritecond, but the above works

Jake - Thanks. That is what I thought, but did not feel comfortable with testing it. Have to think about it though. I want to be able to use both /home.html and /index.php as valid pages

/home.html and /index.php shouldn't be affected by those redirects unless they live under the /gallery directories.

I have a test webserver on my internal network if you need me to try anything.

/gallery/ is a cms (Coppermine) and I always like to put up a front end Web Page (home.html) to go with a cms. Just makes it more visible to the Search Engines.

I am also just taking it easy for the next week or so. I am having all the rest of my teeth pulled and false teeth done next Tuesday.

Not fun... that's on my list to do soon too.

Get some rest, and we'll figure it out when you are ready.
