Hello all. I have a large Waterbury mantle clock with no rear door. The problem I am having is that there is no evidence that it ever had one. There are no latch marks or hinge marks. Any ideas?

It's 19.5 in. Wide and 10.5 in. Tall.

It most likely had a removeable back board that fit into the grove around the opening in the case.

There might have been a latch of sorts at the top. There was probably a lip at the bottom that held the door in down there. A bit like a cuckoo clock door.
