Any ideas on how to repair this Waterbury suspension part. Two teeth have sheared off the adjuster for the pendulum length. The gear wheel has an interior thread which runs through the lower platform and seems to be riveted onto a large washer. My current take is to leave well alone rather than risk not being able to hang the pendulum correctly. Any advice on a way of going about a proper repair gratefully received. There don't seem to be too many Waterbury movements available for parts in the UK.

I would take it apart, braise a bit of brass on where the sheared teeth are and work it down with a file.

I'm inclined to think RC has the best approach. The other option could lead to worse problems.

If you do want to repair the function, I would first take it apart to see how it works. The gear has to turn the threaded shaft and remain axially stationary on the shaft, so am not sure how it is keyed to the shaft. If all seems good, then clean up the missing tooth area, insert brass slug, form new teeth with piercing saw and file or cut the spaces on the mill with an indexing mechanism (how I would do it).

Try and find a used replacement, they are around.
