This clock was in the house my dad grew up in. Is the picture of the lady just for decoration, or did people put pictures of their relatives on these clocks? Trying to find out who she is. Thanks!

It's possible, of course, but it's far more likely that she's a historical figure. A queen, for instance, or another famous woman. If the clock can be identified, the clock name might be of some help in identifying the lady.

In the absence of any identifying information, there is no reason to believe that this picture represents an actual person. In any event, it makes no difference. Enjoy it for what it is.

I just came across a clock on an estate sale auction site with a similar tablet that looked awefully familiar, so I went hunting for this thread. It appears to be the same woman, but she's facing the opposite direction. Same dress, same curly hair, same choker & cross. I suspect that she must be a historical figure. I wish I could post a picture, but I know it's not allowed.
P.S. It's obviously not the same picture, reversed. Her posture is different in them.

I looked through several pictures of Annie, and I believe the lady in the photo was a bit more sophisticated than Annie was :)
It would be fun to know who she is though!

Now that the auction is closed, i can post a link to the other clock with a similar tablet.
I agree with shutterbug. She looks more royal to me. Or maybe an actress?

Being a genealogy fanatic, I'm just relieved to know she is NOT a relative! Then I would be constantly searching for some clue as to who she was. Thank you for relieving my mind. I would LOVE to see the other clock you found with a similar woman pictured. Thank you all very much!

YES! That does look like her! It looks exactly like my clock too except the picture is slightly different. Thank you for solving my mystery!

Unfortunately, she is :) You just have to look back a long way to find the connection. Happy hunting :D
