Was just given this clock and I know NOTHING about it...please help!

If you can't see the name on the face it says "transalpina". Any help would be greatly appriciated!

It looks to me like a fairly standard grandfather clock, albeit one combined with a curio cabinet. The movement would likely be made by Keinenger or Hermle, both of which made movements under other names. You set the hands and the moon dial from the front.

The logo is that of Hermle (Franz Hermle & Sohn). The letter above it, which I cannot see very well, indicates the year the movement was made. "A" was 1988, "B" 1989, etc. Knowing the year the movement was made gives an approximate date for the complete clock. Yours would be less than 30 years old.
