• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

I would leave best to the experts, but this is one fantastic
grouping and watch. Nice!

Very nice watch. According to the hand written factory records, which are known to contain inaccuracies, ten "American Watch Company" Grade 10 size watches of this model supposedly were made. As far as I know, though, none have ever been confirmed to exist. Perhaps someone else has more information about this.

It looks used, Art, the case screw is no longer aligned with the dent in the case and there is a dent in the case rim. Might have been used once at least or dropped in the jewelry store.

Glad you are critically looking at my stuff and not too serious about it. . My 87 age eyes are not what they used to be. It was owned by a fine clockmaker near 90 when I bought. art .

Here is another lovely ten size Model 1861 that belongs to a close friend of mine. I helped him acquire the watch. It is a somewhat earlier one, finished in February 1864, in an 18K Robbins & Appleton case, and like the previous one shown, the movement is equipped with Fitts's barrel, which shares the same patent with Fitts's pinion.

Good looking watch I really like the hooked circle.
Mine is the budget version database says 9 jewel looks like 7, I wouldn't know.
They did spring for the gold balance ,Extra 1.50
Good choice when marching long distance.

Thanks it looks like the date is correct (March 1864 )and the jewel count is 7 not 9.
I had no idea where to look for the other 2 if possible.
