As members of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, we are in receipt of a
voting ballot for the year 2015.

We have the privilege of selecting 3 BOD members.

    Election Committee Candidate

    By-Law Changes

It is simple, quick and will save much expense, time and effort in mailing paper ballots to each
member and have them returned to the designated address.

I have just voted, and saved the NAWCC some time and expense, while I understand not everyone
may have a computer to vote by...those that do...PLEASE VOTE...save us time, money and the
chore of mailing paper ballots to those that can vote by computer.

    Thanks.

I honestly don't have a clue who the perspective members are, or how they would improve the site. If they don't involve themselves in the message board, I won't involve myself in their election.

Some of them have Shutterbug. Those that participate here and posted in the Candidates' Forum got my vote. Those that stayed anonymous for the last four years or felt posting in the Candidates' Forum was a waste of their time did not.

Indeed... For me, the pool of candidates was also limited to those who chose to participate on the message board.

It is amazing to me that some people will vote for candidates simply because they post on this board, rather than candidates who have the skill sets to govern a nonprofit association and who volunteer to do tough jobs to make this a better organization. I wonder if that is how those same people vote for their political leaders.

I voted for Phil Gregory, Bob Pritzker, and Gary Landis. Phil posts, Bob almost never, and I don't think Gary posts at all. However, all three have the proven skills and experience to govern our association properly and to get tough jobs done. For example, when Connie Stuckert resigned as ED, Phil stepped up and served as interim ED for six or seven months, living in Columbia away from his family. When Gary was on the board and no one else would serve as secretary, he stepped up and took the job.

These guys have a tremendous amount of experience of the kind we are looking for.

These three may or may not simply be lurkers on the MB. When I need specific information, I usually pick up the phone or send an email to board members, the ED, the staff, or individuals. There is often no reason to make a question public, even if they are a public figure.

Frank. you have no right to belittle those that do not vote according to your preferences. Voting is an individual right and how an individual decides to exercise that right is their business, not yours. At least those that vote for people because they post on this board have taken the time to investigate the candidates.

Many of us do not have long term relationships with the candidates.
Where are we supposed to get the information about them and their platform if they don't participate ?

Since you posted whom you voted for, I will do the same. Phil Gregory, Bob Pritzker and Robert Gary were my choices.

I knew Phil from past experiences and was familiar with his work, Bob Pritzker to me came across as a willing worker for
the NAWCC...I liked what he wrote and felt...Robert Gary was my other choice and being a member of his Chapter and
having personal dealings with him...I knew he would honor any commitments he would make.

To me...all three gentlemen will be good for us...my 99 years of life has taught me a little bit about electing people to do
what they mean...when they say it.

Ah yes... looked at that the other day having gone to the main site for some reason, which is unusual for me.

On the other side of the coin, I too have a 'million dollar' resume.
My customers come back to me because of the personal interaction and relationships built, not something they've likely never read...

I would encourage ALL of the current and future executives and staff of the NAWCC to become active here.

Please take time to read the proposed changes to the by-laws before you vote. I voted yes to changes 1&3, but no to changes 2&4. Just because the BOD recommend a change, that does not mean the change is necessarily a good thing. So, please take the time to read and vote!

I voted NO to Amendment 4. When I was on the B&P I actually authored that Amendment copying a similar amendment from another very successful education-based nonprofit. I included the type of potential amendments, "Major" and "Minor," and put the definitions right in the Amendment. The entire B&P committee was in agreement. When I proposed the Amendment to the BOD, they chose to remove the definitions and replace Major and Minor with "substantive and non-technical" and "technical and non-substantive." What a way to make an Amendment unintelligible, especially to a new member! The B&P chair tried to reintroduce the Amendment with the correct wording but got shot down again.

Please vote NO on Amendment 4. It will send a message that you want to simplify the language of the bylaws so everyone can make sense of them.

I understood it (amendment #4), just didn't like. I wouldn't have voted for it even with your wording Frank.
