Hello, bought this little watch today, I think it is early 1930,s.I did buy it as broken, the main spring has broken, the crown is just turning.
Is this watch worth repairing,it is a very appealing watch.
    Thankyou Peter.

    Hello Peter

Can you please provide us with a picture of the movement?

I had a look in Mikrolisk as regards Vertex and it brought up multiple results.
They can be seen here on this link http://www.mikrolisk.de/show.php?site=280#sucheMarker

So a decent movement picture will help.

As regards restoration, in my view every watch is worth restoring BUT, it depends upon how much you are prepared to pay in doing it.

In the meantime, give us a movement picture - which should be easy as that looks like a screw off back - and let's see how we go from there.

    Regards

    David

The case looks identical to that of the Wittnauer All-Proof, a noted breakthrough in the quest for a waterproof, dustproof, shock proof sports watch. I would wonder if there is some connection between Vertex and Albert Wittnauer, or if perhaps Vertex was a trade name used by Wittnauer for the UK market.

Alternately, perhaps the case design was owned by a third party and licensed to different makers in different markets.
