• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Does somebody know what is for the backside of this chronograph?
When you start the centered second chronograph hand, the larger backside hand also starts but in a back clockwise way!!
Thanks for all your comments

The back side is a tachometer. record the time of an event . If the hand does not complete a full circle the outer track converts to events per hour.

The smaller hand counts the number of center hand rotations. The the count is three you use the third track to convert to events per hour.

- I'd love to see a photo of the movement.

Hello! Hope this thread may be reactivated… I also have one - sold in 1930 to my father. I discovered it apparently untouched since the late 1950s. An emotional charge but also a beautiful piece of watchmaker's art; so I tried to have it repaired. Longines refused to, unfortunately they informed me too late why: it had been repaired unprofessionally at some time (after what appears to have been a bad fall which shattered a glass, broke the balance staff, dinged the tachometer face). In the meantime, a watchmaker in DE (authorised and expensive) has done a surprisingly halfhearted repair I'd have quite a few questions about. Any advice would be welcome… Perhaps also a source for spares or a professional who can repair it as it seems to deserve. And of course also anything you may know about the movement, function, history of this model. I'm attaching a photo of the movement, unfortunately I do not have any of the other side.
