This is a private label watch from a jeweller in Quebec, Canada.
Wondering if anyone might know the maker of it?

I’ll go with Omega, circa 1898-1901.

I was about to agree with Omega before I realized that the movement has the type of HS stud retainer that was different from what I've seen on Omegas. Then I took another look at the image that roughbarked provided and realized that I haven't seen enough Omegas. Looks like a likely winner. But still, there's something about it that says "Longines" to me. Type of engraving, for the most part. Not enough to build a great case, but interesting. Cheers.

roughbarked I’m in agreement. Interesting vs Ranfft: it is mirrored orientation. And most intriguing: 17j (not included by him as an option—but clearly it was). This one was imported after the US Tariff of 1897 took affect (Brandt’s hub for all NA was NYC). Other info says this Omega run was made in 1897/1898 and mostly sold off by 1901.

Kevin W. Three watches from your sn run achieved 1st Class bulletins with mention—and scored in top 30 of all entrants—between 1897-1901 at the same site. There were more than 300 others from Brandt that got bulletins in those years at that office—all but 2 first class—and about 290 were not published. This sn run does not appear elsewhere/later, unlike other runs seen then. Doubtless more from your batch are in there, among the others. IMO, this watch may have been among them. Sending details via pm. If of interest, Trottier closed in 1921.

This is very interesting, i kept thinking Omega, and then i kept comparing and could not find something similar. Could not find much on Trottier.

This movement is from Longines, 18.69 in production since 1895.
The 1869N was in production since 1908 mirror design with respect to the 18.69.

A pic of the setting bits will confirm. The sn could fit Longines & the markings, too, if 1908.

Dang, I missed that the in-post image from roughbarked was a Longines. I picked up the "Omega" from the first link and applied it to second, otherwise Longines was a near dead ringer. The capped escape wheel sets it apart from other Longines I've seen though. I thought that a lot about the movement said "Longines", despite not being familiar with the caliber. Nice movement indeed. Thanks Mr Roundel, i giess it was a sleeper on Ebay as it did not sell that high. Its in a star watch case. Thanks everyone for your help. Its appreciated.

The serial number is 1189955. Your link says it was made in 1890.
