Unknown Desk Clock, Made in Japan

A couple years ago I came across this cool desk clock at the thrift store. It has no identifiable copyright or company info written anywhere. Only a stylized XA logo on front and Japan on reverse. I'm guessing it was produced late 80s, maybe early 90s. An old Radioshack battery was inside featuring their logo in use from 72 thru 94 I believe. It's been on my windowsill for awhile and now right at home on a new desk. It's a wonderful little clock. I've asked around and no one seems to know who made it, and every search variation for that mysterious logo brings up nothing. I figured someone out there has to know. What a mystery!

That is a nice looking clock. Is it possible it's an award clock for a company or organization whose logo is on the dial? I can't imagine what the logo is - MAA over an A? Two Ps (one backwards)? AA over an A?
Maybe somebody will recognize it.

I hadn't thought about that before, will adjust my search accordingly thanks! As for the logo itself I've tried those variations before and got nothing. (but only when searched as a watch or clock manufacturer name, which could be my holdup so far) If I stumble on anything I'll be back on over to post.
