Ultra was created by Geismar &Cie as an in house movement manufacturer. Paul Maillardet took over Ultra in 1937. The Laurea brand name was used from the Geismar days through mid century at least.

I picked up this Paul Maillardet watch in hopes to find an Ultra 904. At the very least I expected to

Wow this forum posting is glitching like crazy.

To continue...

I had hoped to find an Ultra 904.
At the very least I expected to find an HP 90/901 which would still have been great.. The Paul Maillardet branded watches seem to use ebauches instead of the in house Ultra movements. But hey, I was hopeful.

Unfortunately it is the Jeambrun 23. Oh well. Still a style of watch I enjoy! It wasn't expensive and I haven't added a wristie in ages.

I started this thread with the hope of others posting their Ultra, Paul Maillardet and Laurea watches if there.are.any around. I've been digging around into these companies and would love to see some of their products. Please post anything relevant!

Thanks and have a good day!

Foiled again! Sort of....

This great 1960(ish) diver carries the Ultra name. It says incabloc .. there is a sub second... It has to be an Ultra 602 right.... RIGHT?!?!?

Nope! It's the FE 233. So while it's not the actual Ultra 602... It kinda is.... Same Ebauche.

I just have to say .. this is the coolest wristwatch and I can't take it off! The dial looks brown, gold or even black depending on the angle. The hands are pure funk. It's awesome. I mean... It's not Mike Nelson's Elgin... But it's great diver watch none the less.

Under the microscope it looks like it has been well maintained, but I ordered a mainspring anyways and will give it a good clean and oil. It does rebank at full wind... Which is strange.

Well... Back to the search. The few obvious Ultra 602s I've seen are not my style... Typical 50s-60s style dress watches... I'm sure something good will surface one of these days.

Thanks for checking it out and have a good day! If anyone comes across an Ultra please remember this thread!
