We picked up two, new to us, clocks at the community garage sale Saturday. One is a Sligh wall clock model 0775-1-CC with a Hermle movement date code of H, 1995. This thing is huge, it is 57 inches tall and 9 inches deep. It is missing the finial on top between the arches. So far I have not been able to find any photo's or reference of this specific model online. If you have a catalog photo of this model, or a picture of one showing the finial that would be helpful. I will try to replace that at some point if I can find one. Also if you know the model name of the clock that would be great. So far it is running like a champ.

The second clock is a Mauthe wall clock. It is all complete, but won't stay running. So still working with that one to get it going.

Any info you can provide on either of these clocks would be helpful.

Nice looking clocks! The Sligh with the Hermle movement marked H indicates the year of manufacture as 1995.

Welcome to the board.

I see the suspension spring lying loose in the bottom behind the glass; I can't see clearly but it looks as if it may be broken. If so, it is easy to get a new one.

Have you got the pendulum that would hang from it?

Yes, I have the pendulum. Where would I get a new suspension spring? Thanks for the info.

I just took a look and the suspension spring is there. Someone must have replaced it already. The pendulum hangs from the leader, but doesn't run for long. I have no idea of the history on the clocks. I have not found any repair receipts or other documentation.

It would help if you could show us a photo of the pendulum, leader and suspension spring., as well as the whole movement.

It is very difficult to say what the problem may be without seeing the movement, however it is important to make sure that the clock is 'in beat'. Being out of beat is a common reason for a clock refusing to run for more than a short time. Do you know how to put a clock 'in beat'?. If not, go to the top of the repair section and click on the 'How to do it' section, scroll down to 'Beat Setting 101' and read that carefully.

It may also be that the movement needs cleaning, oiling and possibly other repairs before it will run satisfactorily.

Let us know how you get on.

OK, I got the Mauthe running. It is has a very nice Westminster chime.

Still looking for information on the Sligh. I am trying to find or make a finial for the top. But I need a photo of this model to see what it looked like.

Thanks

A clock of that size would most likely have a finial that extends past the two sides, probably 1 1/2" or so.

Have you tried the Search Feature in the top right hand corner of this page?
It picks up quite a few posts with the name Sligh
Yes, I tried that and google as well. Nothing with that model number and shape and size. The search continues.
