I need to construct a trim piece for a grandfather clock. Something in the range of 12"x1.5"x1". So I need a board that is a true 1" thick to match existing trim. Where would I go to find a true 1" board? The stores that I'm familiar with don't carry them.

Make it yourself from something bigger? In the UK we have a sort of metricated imperial but planed timber is smaller, the sizes are for sawn timber.

Yep, that's probably what I'll do.
