Torsion Top blocks

I find I need to make some top blocks that aren’t available in the uk , as I have to make a few I thought rather than setup in the four jaw chuck for each one I would make a collet out of aluminium, so I milled a length of 16mm in half ( I used 16mm because I have that size collet to go in my Pultra) I then milled 8.95mm wide X 2.25mm deep along the length I had milled in half , super glued 2 bits of 1/4” X 3/8” together and milled it to size , put it in the collet I made and turned the round bit to 3.7mm X 4.5mm long , I have also made a jig to drill the 1.05mm screw holes to tap 12BA thread, all I need to do now is make the screws.

I could purchase them from Horolovar but the delivery cost makes them very expensive, I have got some of the other two piece CDE blocks from them $45 each but then I would really struggle to make them and 10 JUF tension washers because for $1 each it would cost more for me to make them.

I have been making and bluing the 12BA screws today, glad I have magnification, one finished three more to go, first one always takes the longest.
