Found this little one at an antiques store last week. No idea what exact year it was made but it has plastic bellow tops and a 'West Germany' stamp on movement. Typical Regula 25 movement squeezed into one of the smallest cuckoo cases I've handled yet. Bellows are simply glued into the case and there's no room for the coil wire to resonate. These tiny cuckoos are a bit of a niche but they do turn up once in a while from different makers & periods.

The top vanished so a spare has been ordered and will be adapted to suit. Thought the carvings were Oak leaves but closer inspection suggests they're some interpretation of Pine branches and cones. Carving detail is rather well done for a "cold war cuckoo".

Not much attention required for this one, just replacing a missing chain hook and getting everything aligned. Movement is still very clean and works nicely. The bird it came with was too wide for the door opening and kept jamming every time it tried to start up, so a new bird with narrower platform tabs was transplanted. The "new" bird is really an old one I'd held onto for almost 20 years.

Hadn't photographed them yet but it did come with a pendulum and two weights. They're the same size as those used on other 1 day cuckoos, nothing was re-proportioned for the tiny case.
