Not my clock, but picked up this one from a client this morning. Three train fusee, 8 bells, 4 small gongs & 1 big one. Interesting inscription on the dial. Client saved it from going to a dump skip in 1969 and put it on his wall in his office. I took it of for the first time today, it has a beautiful carved wall bracket that definitely came with the clock as its the same wood and carvings. The clock stands just over 700mm high and weighs 67kg.There is no makers name on the movement. If anybody might have a clue as to where its from or a date it will be very helpful.

Beautiful! It always amazes me what people are willing to chuck away. Surely someone could take one quick glance at a clock like that and think of selling it before sending it off to the landfill.

Looks like it could be an English movement, perhaps by Elliot. Another contender could be Winterhalder & Hoffmeier.

I have searched the hotel on the internet and that still exists but I struggle to find anything on the association of silver & diamond smiths.
