Thomas Budgen Croydon information needed.

I bought me an early 18th or late 17th century "Thomas Budgen Croydon fecit" signed movement with a very small 8 inch dial with nice engraved dial corners. Untill now I managed to find a Thomas Budgen in Croydon, but much later then this movement looks likes. Does anyone know if there was an earlier Thomas Budgen in Croydon working ad a clockmaker? I think it must be late 17 or early 18th century?

Dean, I know, I also likes these kind of early dials very much. This morning I found a 17th century lantern clock on internet made by a Thomas Budgen from Croydon. I think that must be the same maker but still cannot find further information on this early Thomas Budgen.

Thomas Budgen has made some complicated longcases.

This lacquer longcase was dated 1740 by the auction house, the catalogue write-up refers to a more complicated Budgen longcase in Cescinsky & Webster p.183, fig188,189.

The 1730/40 dated C&W longcase is a 24hr dial with many subsidiary dials, spherical globe/moon, equation work, Zodiac etc.

Jevan thats a very inresting clock with a very nice complecated dial. In some way it reminds me of my Ogden clock dial. Thanks for sharing.
