Wednesday morning I had breakfast at my favorite restaurant. A large box of flowers was delivered for a girl (age 46) who works the afternoon shift. Today, I had brunch there, the girl (46) waited upon me. In speaking of the flowers sent her with a large ‘I love you’ sign; I remarked, “The only true love you will ever get is from a***dog or cat***they cannot turn the spigot on or off.”

Human love is much like the spigot…far too often, it is turned on or off.

It might be that way for some, but not me Dan. The human variety has only happened to me once. I married her 30 years ago and I don't ever plan on wanting another. I think she feels the same:whistle:

Often, I come up with some off-the-wall thoughts. I may imagine myself a little nutty or senile...hence the dreams.

We honor NAWCC members for a lot of things they do...why not a "Certificate of Love"...for those marriages that last half a century or more.

It would be interesting to take a poll just to see how long we members of the NAWCC were/are married to the women we chose to spend our lives with.

Understanding, that at least for the past few decades perhaps 50% of marriages have ended in divorce.

I would assume for 50-year marriages the spouses are near to 80 years of age or older.

If any of our NAWCC members can boast of 50 years of marriage...I will create a nice 8-1/2"x11" Certificate. You go to a dollar store and get a frame to display it.

We honor 50 year NAWCC members...why not honor 50 year marriages:???:?

Great idea Dan. I will let you know in two years, but I won't be 80 yet.

Here in the UK, they could be as young as 66/67 years of age - you can get married at the age of 16 with parental consent.

My parents were married for 62 years until my mother passed on and my father still lives on at the age of 87.

    Regards

True to my word!!! You will be the FIRST NAWCC member so honored.

Send me your parents names, date of marriage. I will conjure a Marriage Certificate of 50 years or more.

But I will publish it here on the NAWCC Message Board and send you a copy by postal mail. You can frame it.

Any marriage of 50 years or more certainly deserves to be recognized and honored.

I spoke to my father about this matter and he is not happy about the details being published on the web. I can understand his feelings about the matter and I hope that you will as well.

    Regards

    David
