A real Internet eBook. It is printable and readable right on your computer monitor from the server, not as a download .PDF or .DOC. Every page is validated by the W3C as valid xHTML. It is searchable in its entirety by GOOGLE or any other SE. Each small image is clickable to its larger one, this allows speedier downloads and easier reading plus you only open what you want to get a closer look at.

Sam - I didn't notice any interest in patterns except the cross-hatch pattern. I have an excellent 23J with the wavy two color pattern. Is the cross-hatch pattern supposed to be special?

I didn't write the Editorial. I do not collect Sangamo's and have a very limited knowledge about them.

My Partners and I developed the Program that allows individuals to write directly to the Internet Web Pages.

All the BIG Internet sites use this type of programming; Yahoo, Ebay, MSN, Wikipedia; just to name a few.

    bbwatch...

most likely your movement is a Sangamo grade, model 5 (getty)...

the article begins after the production of the model 5 ended and takes up with the 'then' new model 8 and 9 bridge movements, which had the 'crosshatch' pattern. This pattern was dropped upon the introduction of the model 10 and continued thru production of the model 13

the model 5 Sangamo grade is worthy of an article all by itself !! There seemingly are more variations in damaskeen pattern than the Sangamo Specials

maybe one day an article will be written on those... :thumb:

Terry - Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Checked my records. It is a hunting case Model 4 Sangamo 23J SN 1438950 mfg ~ 1900. Not so "special" I guess.

It is "special" enough in its own right....

    1898 production...

estimated total production 750 movements in six runs...

and being a 'hunter' it is a model 4... as you wrote.

    a fine watch indeed. :thumb:
