Tame Side clock ?

looking for any info on a mantle clock - only marking is on it's dial and it reads "Made in Tame Side England". It looks to be circa 1900 - 1930.

These clocks were made by Hirst Bros. in Tameside, near Manchester (UK). They started around 1884 in Oldham and eventually moved to Tameside in 1919.

Hirst Bros. made some clocks and watches and imported others, so since yours says Made in Tameside, it looks as if yours was made there.

There is no clear picture of your clock but I am guessing it was made some time late 1920s - mid 1930s.

There is an article of some sort focusing on the "Tame Side Clock Factory, England" in the July/August 2013 NAWCC Bulletin. It is volume 55 issue 404 on page 437. I was unable to access the article on line. If you have that issue, you could take a look. David, Owen.or
