T-end Interference

I couldn't believe this one.

My Rockford 575 was running great, for a few hours, and would then stop. I took it apart several times looking for the problem, and then I noticed this (pictured): the T-end of the mainspring was protruding through the hole at the back of the barrel, and when it rotated under the center wheel, it locked in the teeth.

I hate T-ends.

I got away with pushing the T-end towards the cover hole on the top side, where there’s more clearance. It was tight, but it moved.

Thanks,

I haven't had trouble with the "T" end protruding too much, but I have had to file the "T" a bit narrower to fit through the hole in the cover. Congrat's on getting it sorted. Cheers.
