Hi, I am still sorting my stuff out and in a Box marked 13 I found this strange Fusee. It has 13 Jewels. I at first thought that the Barrel Bridge had been replaced, but it is Gilded on the edges. It is in a rather Weathered condition, but it has a connected Fusee Chain, a good Balance with both Pivots. I don't think that it will take much to get it going; it tries to run. It is Wound from the Back. Any thoughts about it? Regards Ray

I think I saw one for sale online recently that had a similar layout/design. I guess the intention was to move the balance closer to the edge of the plates so that the centre pivot is accessable for hand setting from the back on a full plate movement.

Hi Ray,

I did have a search through the (rather limited) lists that I have, and I'm afraid that I can't find an "E.L". The plate size appears to be in Lancashire Gauge, but apart from this, no clue as to origin.

Regards,

Graham
