I just purchased a stopwatch made by A. Lietz & Co. The numbers progress in increments of 180 and tops out at 1760. What is this thing?

Yes. We now think this is a pedometer of some sort rather than a stopwatch. A. Lietz & Co. was a drafting and surveying equipment company so it would make sense as a surveyor's tool. It doesn't work currently.Hi Frank, and welcome to the forum,
Does it run and have you removed the back to look at the movement? There are 1,760 yards in a mile, so is this a pedometer rather than a stopwatch?

Graham

Thanks again for your assistance.Hi Frank,
The only person in the US I can think of who might be able to help you is Doug Shuman, who's a member here, ('dshumans').
