I once had a set of plans to build a ST #2 case, the plans came from Mason and Sullivan (no longer in business) in 1984. Any body know where I can get another set of plans?

    Dick,
You can find plans for the Seth Thomas #2 regulator in a book called "Clockmaking: 18 Antique Designs for the Woodworker" by John A. Nelson. I built a case from these plans (see my avatar) and found them to be pretty good. I found a few dimensional errors but if you go over the drawings carefully beforehand, you should not have any problem.
    Good luck with your project,
    Allan

Thank you, Mr. Wolff, I hope it is still available.

The saga of the ST #2 case plans continues. I found my old set of plans, printed in 1984, I have the John Nelson book, and I also have a set of plans from
American Furniture Desigh Co. And they are all just a little different. Were there variations in the original ST #2's.

Yes, there were changes over the years. Here's a thread with some research into the differences to help date these clocks. Perhaps the movement you are going to use might dictate the design you want to use.

Dick, here's a few pictures of a recent purchase, an early #2 reproduction. I'm pretty sure the movement, weight, pendulum and dial are authentic old parts, but the case isn't very old. It has the weight behind the pendulum, a big rectangular weight.

Harold, what kind of wood is it. I am trying to make mine look like the circa 1900. I had forgotten how much fun wood working is. I am using clear white pine and when I get my skills back I will try oak.

My best guess is maple, Dick. The side panels are pine. It was skillfully put together. Although I would have preferred a movement with a second bit, it has been growing on me.
