• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Hi all....I'm new to this forum and thankful that it exists. Hopefully someone can assist me.

I have a small sterling cased pocket watch.

The face reads "Soleres" Paris, but it may be "Loleres". Sometimes script is difficult to read.

I cannot find anything about this watch.

I've attached 4 photos.

Any information is greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

The name on the dial is clearly Soléres. They are quite probably the retailers of the watch.

Others will be able to help you with identifying the movement.

Western NSW or just this side of the black stump.
Country
Region
Argentan = Nickel silver.

It is also a place in northern France.
The movement could be any of several Swiss movement makers from FHF to Phenix. I'm not aware of any French cylinder watch makers but there was likely a few.
Likely dates from around the turn of the century and maybe as late as 1910.

Continental watches are not my area of interest but this ...

is possible one of the variants of the Fontainemelon trade marks, which often just have the arrow going through the 'apple', no name.

Need to see the rest of the mark to identify.

Thank you so much for the info. I tried to identify any mark I could find, but totally missed this one. Probably wouldn't have helped me anyway as I am very new to watch collecting.
