I am looking for suggestions for a (very small) lathe or other device that I could use (almost exclusively) for clock pivot polishing. I do have a Pultra 8mm clockmaker's lathe for all other work and I do use it at present for this job. However, I don't have a workshop so have setup a kind of workspace in a spare bedroom but I for various reasons I can't use the Pultra there so I move it to dining room where we have a good solid table that I can set it on. Not ideal! So I expect that there must be some much smaller device than will rotate the wheels slow and true enough to polish the pivot. Any suggestions out there?

I remember someone made a tool for that out of a door hinge and posted it on the board.

For me a Jacot pivot tool works well as for balance than for gears pivots. There is plenty for sale and can be restaured easily.
