    Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a lot of pocket watches I was able to get my hands on. Upon initial inspection, I was well pleased with what I was considering a bunch of 7 jewel movements that I'd be able to tinker with. Upon closer inspection, I think I may have caught a couple could be "gems", to me anyhow.

I was gung ho ready to get these documented and smash out a post with the lot of them, but I think I'll instead introduce them here and create individual posts for each one. The little one is swiss.... so we'll start there, from left to right top row then bottom row.

    First row
    1. Unknown Swiss movement in a clamshell silver guilloche case covered in enamel and pearls.
    2. Waltham Model 1894 Grade 220
    3. Elgin Model 5 Grade 108 Class 29
    4. Hamilton Model 1 Grade 936

    Second row
    5. Waltham Model 1899 Grade 610
    6. Waltham Model 1883 Grade 1
    7. New York Standard (Model 165??) Chronograph
    8. New Era that I have yet to discover info on.

Hope you guys like em and I look forward to posting about each soon!!

Looks like a nice bunch of watches.

Edit....the Hamilton grade 936's(and variations) are some of my favorites. They are
    Hamilton's first Railroad Grade watch.

I'm a big fan of the Elgin 108! Have three in my collection. 2 original (as far as I can tell) and one recased. They are the top of the line for the model 5. 15 jewels, adjusted, and nickel, right up my alley. They also have very attractive damaskeen.

The dial on yours is very nice, with the minute markers and Arabic numbers!

Nice find. I am with Rob that the Hamilton 936 is the gem of the lot. It also appears to be a private label and maybe even a Canadian private label:???: I would sure like a close-up of the dial and movement. Like Rob, 936s but especially 936 PLs are a favorite of mine.

I'm actually a bit excited about that one... DR Dingwall labeled and the serial shows a run quantity of NINETY. Details to come soon.

Congratulations on your additions! If you search this forum for New Era, you'll find several threads that might provide some background information. Enjoy the search and we look forward to hearing more about the watches.

Donald Ross Dingwall had a jewelry store in Winnipeg, Manitoba, CA. The 24 hour markers on the dial clued me in. What a cool watch.

Rad I suggest you post the Swiss watch on the European and Other Watches section
Hopefully the people on there will be able to tell you more about it

Yes, that one will go to the Euro page as soon as I can get to it. I'm having an unusually difficult time uploading photos right now.
