October 26, 2010…Members News and Views was started by the “dreamer in me lives on.”

As of today, we have had over 33,000 hits in one year and five months…not bad for a Forum that has very little to do with watches or clocks. In addition, we have about 20 other threads containing many thousands of hits. During this period, we have sold many NAWCC Calendars, created the Founders Plaque that hangs near the entrance to the elevator and we were the spark plug that started the drive for a 50-year NAWCC Members Plaque or wall site to honor these people…voted for and passed by our NAWCC officials in 2011.

We have around 120 members of that remarkable standing and, yearly, others will attain this honorable distinction. This prompts me to ask…has any other hobby organization ever reached that plateau. Could the National Association of Watch and Collectors be alone in attaining such a status of 50-year membership?

We create and print and donate all the yearly NAWCC Calendar sales to our NAWCC, while the Museum Gift Store also sells the calendars to visitors to our Columbia PA Museum. In the past year, we joined the NAWCC Heritage Foundation. Over the years, it will show about half of our investment in this worthy plan may remain with the NAWCC Heritage Foundation. While we collect a much higher interest rate (with safety) than offered by many investment groups or banks, adding to its overall strategy of funding for our National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and its future.
