I am looking for a motor for my Simplex Model R83 master clock. I got this out of the garbage at a school when they took it out. The clock is mostly all complete except for the motor and the program chains. The whole clock had been spraypainted including the plastic switch legend plate. I have that and have to clean it in brake fluid or something that will take the paint off and not dissolve the plastic faceplate. The clock however is missing most of the motor. I have the small piece with the gearbox and gear but the motor itself is missing. I am assuming that it was all one piece and will all have to be replaced. If anyone has a motor and gear assembly that will work, please let me know. I am attaching a photo of the clock and the remains of the motor.

I have some motors that will work with this clock. You will also need an allen wrench to remove the gear from the old motor, and put it on the new one.
Send me a private message if you are interested.

Jeff, I sent you an email back last night. Is it caught in your spam box? I didn't get an email from you, just a Private Message through the message board.

Hi there, I’m glad I found this group because I just got one of these clocks and the motor doesn’t seem to be working very well. I cleaned and fixed most of the things (chains, wires, etc.) but the motor works randomly so wondering if you know where I could be a replacement. Thanks!

It looks like it's a signal control clock for ringing bells.

Here are pictures - I can't enlarge the picture to see the motor, but someone here should recognize it.

If you could post a picture, it would help immensely.

Hi EscapeWheel, not sure if you were answering to me but attached some pics of the clock I bought. As I mentioned, the motor doesn’t seem to be fully operating so wondering if I could replace it (by the way, I removed the back cover). Thanks!

Wow. Now, that's industrial looking!
Here's a website that goes into detail about which motor you might need.

If you click on the "Report" button at the bottom of this post, you can request a moderator to move this thread to the Electric Horology section - there would be experts over there that could help a lot more than me.

This one looks a lot like it, but you may want to ask the seller if it, in fact is the same.

Awesome! Thank you so much. I’ve asked to move the thread and I’ll check about the link you sent. Really appreciate it!

It looks like Timesavers has a synchron motor - 1 RPM, 3W, 10 tooth pinion.
