The movement appears to be well made with an interesting plastic dust protector. It is running just fine. Any information is most welcome. There is considerable paint loss on the clock and the shelf. The case and shelf appear to be bronze/brass....or at least non magnetic.

Thanks,

~Bob

Hi,

Silvoz (currently Horbinor et Silvoz, it seems) is a French company. It no longer makes clocks apparently, and looks to be predominantly a wholesaler nowadays. It did, however, produce clocks between the 1950’s and 1980’s - I would place your example towards the earlier part of that bracket. A very nice quality movement, I didn’t realise these have platform escapements.

Regards.

Thanks for the reply.....I agree a nice movement indeed. It's quite substantial in weight ...both the clock and the shelf. A decent replica of a Louis XV era clock, I suppose. A unique addition to the collection.
