• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

Hello,

I am working on restoring a Hoadley miniature alarm timepiece and the original pendulum bob is missing. Does anyone know the style and weight that would be correct for the clock.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

Here is an example, nothing too unusual, the bob weighs 4.5 ounces and the photos below should give an idea of size.
I have seen the bone rating nut used on a number of Hoadley clocks and believe them to be specific to him. However, one with a leather nut should be perfectly acceptable and easily found at a Mart or on the popular auction site.

Happy hunting,
Troy
