Does it tell the how this chief got Waterbury to produce these with his name on the case? I love the history. The Speck is shown in A&B's book on carriage clocks, the case, the clock front and back with the door open are illustrated along with 5 pages on carriage clocks from a Waterbury catalogue from 1908-9 in which the case is $1.80 and the clock is $4.25 in gold plated or gun metal finish. It is described in a fair bit of detail but a short summary would be a well made one day semi-minature timepiece only with pin pallet escapement, 3" tall with the handle up.
I wonder if Waterbury did ever put the name on the case. I would think it might be that the Chief bought as many clocks as he needed and had the inscription done locally. But that's just a guess.Does it tell the how this chief got Waterbury to produce these with his name on the case? I love the history.
