I posted about acquiring this clock under "New Acquisitons" a couple of weeks ago. I have now received the clock and have started the restoration. Our fellow Forum member "inbeat" has already started helping me and providing encouragement.

I have completed cleaning and serviced the movement, torn the case down, contacted Lee David for the lower glass, sent an email to the Dial House, ordered rosewood veneer, ordered some simple common parts, and started searching for the hard to find things. If anyone know where there are some good hands (preferable tulip hands) for a 14 inch dial and/or know where I can find a good pendulum (preferable Plymouth Hollow) please let me know.

The biggest challenge is going to be making the lower case part. "Inbeat" is going to mail me plans with dimensions.

Here are a couple of pictures of the cord wood. You can see the Silas Terry round movement properly mounted on the back board.

It is close to complete. I do have the weight and pendulum. They are just not shown in the picture. The dial is being done by the Dial House, and Lee Davis is doing the lower gold stenciled regulator glass.

It's coming along nicely, lamar. I have to say that I've always liked the looks of the Silas Terry movement.

Thank You for all the nice comments. You really gain an appreciation of the craftsmanship of the era when you get into a major restoration endeavor. It never ceases to amaze me with the quality of workmanship in clocks and watches from our distant accestors.

Thanks MQ, I scored a Plymouth Hollow Commerative Pendulum for it (it is correct for this clock). I will put it all together once I have the dial from the Dial House and the lower Regulator Glass from Lee Davis. I still need a set of Tulip Hands, but I have never seen available from anywhere.

Does anyone know who can make hands of this type?

Great pendulum! Is the one on eBay? I followed one a couple of weeks ago that sold. Those things are very rare.

Thanks MQ, I think in and of itself the Plymouth Hollow Pendulum is an extremely collectible horological item. I consider myself lucky to of found one without a valuable clock attached.

Nice job! Have you posted any completed photos anywhere? Would like to see them.
I just acquired a #1 Extra with round t/o movement like yours, it also has the same lower case problems. Do you still have the plans with dimensions?

Again nice job on the restoration.

Sorry but it is against the rules to discuss values on this part of the board.
